Mystic River # 3
In the movie Jimmy seeks revenge for the killing of his daughter. throughout the majority of the movie he attempts to seek who the murderer is. At one point in the movie he believes Dave is the one who killed his daughter due to the cops questioning him, and the fact that Dave's wife told Jimmy that she thinks he did it. Jimmy than threatens Dave's life until he admits to killing his daughter which he never did, and once he admits to it Jimmy kills him. At that moment Jimmy believes that he has done right, and that "justice" has been served to his daughter's murderer. But it is only later on that he discovers that it wasn't Dave who killed his daughter and that he had killed an innocent man. All this comes down to the fact that Jimmy wanted to seek revenge and what started out as a right by him, turned into a major wrong due to the fact that he killed an innocent man and a man who was once his best friend.
